Our vision is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We are a nonprofit organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, happier place. With the help of our tireless staff, we organize fundraisers, community-building events, and in-depth training sessions for our volunteers.

Making a Difference.

Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with a safe place to go after school and during the summer as well as a positive outlet for their energy. Out-of-school hours serve as the essential link between school and home, offering the greatest opportunity to influence the future of our kids, our communities and our country. Boys & Girls Clubs of America seeks to ensure that all kids, especially those who need us most, have a positive and enriching experience when the school bell rings, putting them on the path to success.

Youth Safety.

Every young person deserves to feel emotionally and physically safe. The Club works to create a safe space for them everyday. Great Futures start with safe childhoods. Ensuring the safety of youth is fundamental to the mission of our Boys & Girls Clubs. Young people cannot thrive in environments that don’t meet their needs for physical and emotional safety.

Clubs play an important role in providing a safe space to exercise, compete in team sports and establish lifelong friendships. Teens who stay involved in a Club are more likely than their peers to have healthy habits, including being physically active and abstaining from risky behaviors like drinking alcohol, smoking and using marijuana.

Throughout more than a century of existence, Boys & Girls Clubs have worked to foster young people’s integrity and good character, their ability to make positive life choices, their belief that they can bring about positive change in their communities, and their compassion and willingness to serve others.

Clubs Help Teens Graduate from High School Prepared for a Great Future

Each year, 1 out of 6 students fails to graduate from high school on time. Ensuring that every Club member graduates from high school on time with a solid plan for their future is of the highest priority for BGCA. Boys & Girls Clubs offer homework help, tutoring, educational enrichment and college preparation programs designed to support young people’s academic achievement.

Traditional Site

Weslaco Main Unit

Our traditional site services its students from the surrounding schools. We currently have 225 registered members ranging from ages 5 to 17. Here we are able to provide community outreach programs, various sports leagues, health programs, and exercise programs for everyone, adults and children alike.

This brand new facility was built in 2013. It was all made possible by the hard work of The City of Weslaco, our board members, and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department who fought tirelessly to create such a wonderful opportunity for our youth of the community..
